Carol Skyrm is Director of Development at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. She has been a professional fundraiser for 25 years, working with various international NGOs in New York. A generalist, she has raised millions of dollars from 16 governments, multilateral agencies, foundations, corporations and individuals; she also managed two successful capital campaigns.

She was the first director of development for 8.5 years at the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), an organization concerned with providing holistic justice for victims of massive human rights abuse. She served as director of development for the Population Council, a major research institution for reproductive health and family planning, from 1994 to 2001. She also worked for the American University in Cairo and International House, New York, as a fundraiser; and in communications at the United Nations Department of Public Information and Interlink Press Service, an affiliate of Inter Press Service (IPS).

Since 2010 she has been a fundraising consultant for international NGOs, including the Global Fund for Women, Parliamentarians for Global Action, ICTJ, and the RFK Center.

She serves as Board Secretary at the Refugee and Immigrant Fund, which operates a welcome center in Queens for asylum seekers who have made their way to New York. She is an Executive Committee member of the New York Region of the American Friends Service Committee. She is a member of the national finance team of the Grail, in international organization of women seeking to transform the world.

She has degrees from Western Washington State University, the Université de Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), and from the Graduate School of Communications at the University of Washington.
