Fernanda Katz EllenbergTraduzione non ancora disponibile Senior Advocacy Officer, RFK Partners for Human RightsFernanda Katz Ellenberg is a senior advocacy officer at the RFK Center for Justice & Human Rights. In this capacity she oversees the annual Human Rights Award nomination and selection process as well as the Human Rights Award Ceremony each November. Ms. Ellenberg provides programmatic support for the Center’s laureate-to-laureate project on the Right to Education that addresses the issues Afro-descendants and indigenous peoples face in realizing their right to education in Colombia, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Ms. Ellenberg also provides programmatic support to the RFK Center partnership with 2009 Human Rights Laureate Magodonga Mahlangu and WOZA from Zimbabwe. In addition, Ms. Ellenberg serves as a congressional liaison for our Laureate programs. Ms. Ellenberg previously worked as an associate at Veirano Advogados in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in matters related to civil law and litigation, contract law and products liability. In the United States, Ms. Ellenberg worked as a foreign attorney in the Kansas City, MO, office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP in products liability litigation. Ms. Ellenberg is fluent in Portuguese and English and has working knowledge of Spanish. Ms. Ellenberg received her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the Catholic University in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 2002, and her Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in international studies from Cornell Law School in 2005.
